Nikola Vucevic was the tallest player measured at the NBA draft combine. Nikola measured nearly 7′ with shoes and has a standing reach of 9’4.5”. Players who measure out this tall and can actually play basketball immediately shoot into the first round of the NBA draft.
Vucevic has a relatively polished offensive game. He can shoot the ball from distance and finish below the rim. He can put the ball on the floor and he has the quickness to get by most players his height. He has a great handle for a player who projects as a center. He rebounds well, and could block shots at the college level.
Vucevic does not project as a plus defender in the NBA. He just does not have the athleticism. With a vertical of just 24”, he will most likely not be able to sustain his collegiate 1.6 bpg. He will also have more of his own shots blocked at the NBA level.
NBA Ready Skills:

- Interior defense
- Plays below the rim
NBA Comparison:
- Darko Milicic
Vucevic improved each year he was at USC. His scoring average went from 2 to 17ppg. I think that Nikola will be able to generate offense in the NBA. Nikola should be an adequate post defender, but will never be a plus defender because his lack of athleticism. Vucevic has the length to play the 5 in the NBA, but I think he projects better as an NBA power forward where he can better leverage his quickness and speed with the ball.
