Davis Bertrans is not ready to play in the NBA. And that has turned into a perfect recipe for getting drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft. What Davis has is potential. He shoots the ball really well. He measures 6’9” without shoes. He shows flashes of athleticism. He handles the ball really well. But most NBA scouts like his quick stroke and size.

Bertrans will spend a few more years playing for Latvia and a European club, but given a few more years to develop, could turn into an excellent player. Bertrans has the offensive ability to start in the NBA. Bertrans seems athletic enough to be able to guard SF in the NBA. He will need to work on his defensive tools and will need to find a way to mask his lack of lateral quickness prior to moving overseas.
